NP Paklenica
A guided bus ride takes us through Ravni Kotari and over a bridge via Novsko ždrilo to Starigrad-Paklenica and its impressive karst landscape. Declared in 1949, the Paklenica National Park covers an area of 95 km2 on the southern slopes of Velebit beneath the highest peaks of Vaganski vrh (1757 metres) and Sveto brdo (1753 metres).
At the magnificent canyon of Velika Paklenica, steep and carved into the southern slopes of Velebit, one meets an abundance of geomorphological shapes and forms, diverse flora and fauna, attractive landscapes and an intact nature of Velebit, a mountain inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List of Natural Properties.
We enter the park by the ethno hamlet of Marasovići, walk through the canyon of Velika Paklenica, climb Anića kuk and the mild slope towards a mountain cabin. Upon return, we will stop at the Hotel Rajna in Starigrad for lunch before returning to Biograd by bus.
