Cerovac caves

The most interesting caves in Croatia.

Located near Gračac on the southern Velebit, they were discovered during World War 1 and the construction of a railroad. They extend over the Upper, Middle and Lower Cave in the duration of 4 kilometres of which 700 metres of the Upper and Lower Cave are open for visitors of the Velebit Nature Park. A tour of one cave lasts 1.5 hours while a tour of both caves lasts 3 hours.

The tour includes information about archaeological, paleontological, geomorphological, and biospeleological properties of the caves presented in an attractive way by educated guides. The impressive cave decorations created over millennia (stalactites, stalagmites) will show you the full scope of nature's creativity rendered in magical colours in a unique ambiance of limestone karst and underground waters.
